Forum Rules
The osQuantum Project Support Forums is a service made available to allow osQuantum and osCommerce Users to help each other in starting and developing their online businesses using osQuantum (in development) or osCommerce. All board members are required to abide by a set of rules to keep the atmosphere of the forums friendly and respectful of others.
If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the forum rules, please forward your feedback to a Forum Moderator.
General Rules
The information exchanged on the osQuantum Project Support Forums must relate to eCommerce and to osQuantum or osCommerce in particular. If you have a problem with software other than osQuantum or osCommerce please refer to the support forums provided by the issuers of that software.
Commercial postings and linking to external sites providing osQuantum or osCommerce related products and services are not allowed on the osQuantum Project Support Forums where they are deemed to constitute Spamming of the Forums. A single link is allowed in your personal signature.
Sending unsolicited messages or emails via this board to other board members is not allowed. Any "spamming" activities reported by board members could lead to banning of the account or accounts involved.
The primary function of osQuantum Support Support Forums is as an information exchange to assist people in running osQuantum or osCommerce based websites. Postings of offerings of paid support are not allowed.
Additional guidelines may be pinned to the top of any Forum, and where they are available you should make use of them before posting.
Posting
Before posting about a problem you are experiencing please search the forums for related postings which may help you further.
Postings should be made in the appropriate forum channel and should have a descriptive subject line. Topics with subject lines such as "URGENT SITE BROKE!!!" or "HELP!!!" will generally be ignored by other members who may be able to help.
Double-Posting, or posting the same content in multiple forums/topics, is not allowed.
Bumping postings to the top of the forum channel listing, denying other users the chance to get their posts noticed, is not allowed. When no one has replied to a posting you have made it is recommended to reply in the same thread with more information about your problem. If you have posted multiple questions try reducing the list to the most urgent you need resolved.
Please remember that board members are taking their time to help others. Do not expect your posting to be answered within minutes, or even hours, and when it has been replied to, please show respect to those helping out.
As a board member you alone are responsible for the postings you make in the forums. The forums are not a venue for the resolution of disputes between board members, companies or other persons and any such postings may be removed.
The Board Moderators have the right to edit or remove any post which they feel contravenes the word or spirit of these rules or the osQuantum Project Forums, without redress.
User Profiles
Every board member has a profile that can be accessed via the "My Controls" link in the forum header. It is appreciated if all information is entered honestly and accurately, e.g. "Real Name" means just that, your real name - not your company name or other information.
Usernames are used to uniquely identify yourself on the board through the use of a nickname and must not contain e-mail addresses or url addresses.
Avatars are used to further identify ones self in the community through the use of an image that is attached to ones profile. Avatars are by no means a method to promote services or businesses and should be used to yourself to the community in a personal manner.
Each user profile can have a signature defined that is automatically added at the bottom of each posting made. The size of signatures should not be greater than 6 lines. If your signature is considered to be too long or inappropriate, a forum moderator will ask you to shorten it.
Contributors
Members who wish to add and support a Contribution suitable for osQuantum or osCommerce should approach a Moderator in the first instance. If allowed they will be asked to send their Contribution to one of the Moderators for vetting and virus-scanning before it is made available. The person submitting the Contribution will then be assigned to the Contributors Group and will be responsible for providing support for their Contribution. If they fail to provide adequate support the Contribution may be removed.
Public Behaviour
Please be respectful toward other board members, contribution authors, and forum moderators. Any behavior that appears to be offensive, is not constructive, or is inappropriate will be removed with a possible ban on the accounts involved.
If you have experienced abusive behaviour from a community member please inform a forum moderator so appropriate action can be taken.
